About the Opportunity

You will become a part of the delivery team for one of our key Customers in the Airspace Industry, dealing with Air Traffic Management, Flight planning and Air Traffic Control capacity planning.

Our Customer has embarked on the multi-year journey of IT landscape modernisation to increase efficiency of the European Air Traffic Management systems under the most critical programme in European public sector area.

Working as a part of the team you will be engaged in the delivery of cutting-edge IT systems supporting pan-European aviation and shaping the future of European Air Traffic Management.

In the Role of the Release Manager at Atos you will:

  • Schedule, manage and coordinate releases across multiple applications within various products across different teams and projects
  • Construct a release calendar for different products and projects to ensure a centralized view of all releases (Business and usual mode)
  • Coordinate with the project teams delivering changes for the given release and collect status
  • Develop a detailed release plan for the projects going live within the given release (Project mode)
  • Identify, manage, report and mitigate risks associated with the releases impacting both quality and schedule
  • Identify and immediately report issues related with the planned or ongoing releases
  • Continuously monitor projects and provide reports about their progress impacting the release plan
  • Ensure all team members are adhering to engineering best practices
  • Setup and ensure that all team members are following ITIL best practices of Release and Configuration Management processes
  • Monitor release process and collect feedback from different teams of the customer and involved suppliers
  • Apply continuous improvement to the release management process
  • Establish, maintain and manage the relationships with the Customer and other relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate the release management and communication management processes with the customer to ensure information about the release as well as all required documentation is shared with all Stakeholders on time
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Perform any other task in line with the main purpose of the job


Must have Skills (Demonstrable experience required):

  • Ability to manage stakeholders at the Programme level
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all project stakeholders (English C1 level required)
  • Ability to lead, manage and direct a release management team
  • Ability work across different project teams involved in the software development and testing processes
  • Ability to technically guide the release management team (Environment Engineers, CI/CD Engineers etc.)
  • Very good technical skills and hands-on experience in designing, implementing and running CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments in a DevOps context
  • Very good technical skills with thorough knowledge of feature toggles, branch handling, continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with the release management tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform and associated CI/CD pipelines
  • Demonstrable ability to the release, identify and manage associated risks
  • Emotional Intelligence required to deal with people and influence them
  • Demonstrable experience in Release and Configuration Management processes (from technical release point of view)


Must have Required Qualification:

  • Hands-on release management experience in ITIL and DevOps environments
  • ITIL certification including thorough knowledge and experience in ITIL
  • PMP or PgMP certification or equivalent would be considered an advantage
  • Employed/Contracted with large organisations
  • Excellent Customer-facing and internal communication skills
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant release management experience to perform the advertised tasks

  • Problem Solving: Anticipates and solves project issues
  • Customer focus: Adapts services to respond to customer needs

Desirable: Completed university studies of 4 years (Master’s degree) in a relevant domain (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, General Management)
