Oracle Product Engineer

The employee in this position is a professional specialized in the technical maintenance and administration of databases. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for answering and resolving technical requests regarding the Oracle DB and ExaCC infrastructure. You will also contribute to the identification of potential problems in coordination with the Architecture Team, including the automation of certain operational procedures when necessary. Additionally, you will execute standard requests, perform in-depth incident analysis to solve more complex incidents/problems, and ensure the monitoring of activities. Your responsibilities will include maintaining appropriate logs of systems, users, and operational activities, as well as the installation, configuration, and support of the systems under maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide expert technical support for Oracle Database environments. 
  • Design and implement secure, highly available database solutions. 
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database and Enterprise Management software. 
  • Optimize database performance and implement effective backup and recovery strategies. 
  • Help customers with benchmarking to identify bottlenecks and provide guidance on tuning and optimization of Oracle Database. 
  • Monitor system performance and manage data security and user access. 
  • Automate routine tasks and document technical processes. 
  • Analyze and resolve complex incidents, collaborating with the Architecture Team. 
  • Lead data recovery efforts and ensure operational restoration after critical incidents. 
  • Administer user access rights and manage data security issues in collaboration with security engineers. 
  • Manage version upgrades, update programs, and install patches before deployment in production. 
  • Define quality standards and develop related follow-up dashboards. 
  • Conduct and execute test procedures and programs following migrations or incidents. 
  • Ensure the integrity and availability of data by maintaining and improving performance through tuning and automation enhancements. 
  • Ensure the proper execution of safeguards by conducting tests in backup repositories and controlling data updates. 

 

 

This position offers the flexibility of remote work. However, if you prefer working in an office environment, we have locations in Wrocław, Bydgoszcz, Łódź, Warsaw, and Gdańsk. Additionally, in the early stages of a project, occasional travel to Western Europe or Nordic countries may be required for a few weeks. 

 

 

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience with Oracle 19C or later. 
  • Expertise in ExaCC integration and administration. 
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems. 
  • A focus on optimization and automation. 
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL and shell scripting. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Proficiency in English. 

 

Nice to have: 

  • Fluent in German. 
  • Working knowledge of HVR (real-time data replication) and Oracle Cloud Control. 
  • Experience in RAC integration and administration and Data Guard integration and administration. 
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Restful Dataservice (ORDS), Oracle Connection Manager (CMAN), Oracle Application Express (APEX), Oracle SQL Firewall, Oracle RDBMS Enterprise Features (DB Vault, etc.). 
  • Oracle DB performance tuning skills. 
  • Knowledge of Oracle Grid Infrastructure. 
  • Knowledge of ASM and RMAN in a critical and real-time production environment. 
  • Knowledge of Oracle Database auditing and experience in Python scripting and/or Ansible automation.
