As the Monitoring Expert, you will shape the monitoring strategy, ensure high visibility into system performance, and support the reliability of mission‑critical services.
Key Responsibilities (General Scope)
- Define and maintain the overall monitoring and observability strategy for the platform.
- Build and manage a unified view of system health using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Oversee metrics and log collection, ensuring that teams have accurate and meaningful operational insights.
- Support development and QA teams by enabling effective visibility into backend, frontend, and integration components.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure services are well‑instrumented and follow best practices.
- Contribute to platform reliability by identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Promote observability as part of the engineering culture and guide teams on its adoption.
Required Skills (Must Have)
- Strong knowledge of Grafana – dashboards, visualization concepts, and onboarding teams.
- Strong knowledge of Prometheus – metrics, scraping, alerting fundamentals.
- Logs & Metrics Collection – hands-on experience with common agents, collectors, or pipelines.
Nice to Have
- OpenTelemetry (instrumentation for metrics/logs/traces).
- Kubernetes / container environments awareness.
- Scripting in Bash or Python.
- OpenMetrics or other modern monitoring standards.
