We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our build, deployment, and infrastructure platforms. The role spans system administration, CI/CD pipeline ownership, configuration management, virtual machine provisioning in cloud environments, monitoring, and technical application support for multiple teams. The ideal candidate is focused, proactive, structured, and a strong team player who shares knowledge and adapts quickly to change.

 

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure management: Set up, operate, and update Windows and Linux servers; manage user access and directories (Active Directory).
  • Configuration management & automation: Build and maintain playbooks and automation with Ansible; manage JobDSL for pipeline definitions; script in Bash (and optionally PowerShell/Python where applicable).
  • CI/CD ownership: Design, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Gitlab Pipelines); integrate quality gates and artifact management (Sonatype Nexus, SonarQube, Maven).
  • Cloud & virtualization: Provision and configure virtual machines and services across Azure support migration and standardization initiatives.
  • Observability & reliability: Implement and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Grafana, Zabbix); drive incident prevention through SLOs and actionable dashboards.
  • Application & platform support: Administer and troubleshoot Apache, Nginx,
  • Docker, Openshift and Container Platform: Build, manage and update Docker Images; Deploy to Openshift, Manage ArgoCD and Azure Container Platform
  • Security & compliance: Apply configuration hardening, manage credentials/secrets, and ensure auditability across environments.
  • Collaboration & enablement: Partner with development, testing, and product teams to streamline delivery; eliver technical support to a diverse group of users; promote best practices and guide team members.

Continuous improvement: Evolve pipelines, infrastructure and tooling to meet current project requirements; contribute to reliability, performance, and cost optimization

 

Qualifications (Required)

  • Experience: 5+ years in system administration, CI/CD configuration and maintenance, virtual machine provisioning, application/platform support, and core DevOps activities (mid‑size to large projects).
  • Systems: Strong hands‑on with Windows and Linux server administration.
  • DevOps toolchain: Practical expertise with Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, SonarQube, Maven.
  • Configuration management: Ansible (playbooks/roles); JobDSL for pipeline/job definitions.
  • Cloud & virtualization: Experience with Azure (provisioning, configuration, operations).
  • Web & app platforms: Apache, Nginx, OpenShift.
  • Observability: Grafana, Nagios, building meaningful alerts/dashboards.
  • Databases: Working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server (operations, connectivity, basic tuning).
  • Scripting: Bash (and/or PowerShell/Python welcome).
  • Ways of working: Experience in agile environments (e.g., Scrum); strong problem‑solving, ownership, and communication skills.
  • Language: English—communicative level (written and oral). German—communicative level (written and oral).

 

Optional / Ideally

  • Container & orchestration: Deeper experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, Helm, and image management.
  • DevSecOps: Vulnerability management, SAST/DAST integration, secrets management; secure SDLC practices.
  • Monitoring at scale: Advanced dashboarding/alerting across distributed services.
