About the Role 

We are looking for a motivated Application Support Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of business-critical payroll applications for one of our key public sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who is eager to grow their technical skills, work on real-world business solutions, and gain experience with modern software development practices. You will collaborate with experienced developers and technical specialists in a supportive environment that encourages learning and professional development. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using C# and .NET technologies.
• Support the ongoing development of payroll and workforce-related business applications.
• Participate in the modernization of legacy .NET applications and components.
• Collaborate with team members to design, implement, and test new features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and technical issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established development standards.
• Support software deployment activities using Visual Studio and Docker-based environments.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities within the team.
• Create and maintain technical documentation when required.
• Ensure compliance with development standards, security requirements, and best practices. 

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of C# and .NET Framework / .NET technologies.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and development best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Familiarity with Visual Studio development environment.
• Understanding of source control concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and business domains quickly. 

Nice to Have 

• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Docker.
• Knowledge of payroll, HR, or workforce management systems.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
• Experience working with SQL databases.
