We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer (Windows & Java) to support and maintain business‑critical applications running on Windows Server–based environments.

The role focuses on operation, maintenance, and support of Java-based applications deployed on Apache Tomcat and Apache Web Server, integrated with relational databases.The position is part of public-sector environment, with structured ITIL-based processes and cooperation with international stakeholders.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of applications running on Windows Server 2019+ environments
• Support of Java-based applications deployed on Apache Tomcat and Apache Web Server
• Monitoring and troubleshooting of application and infrastructure issues
• Cooperation with database systems (primarily PostgreSQL, additionally Oracle / MySQL)
• Execution and supervision of batch jobs and automated processes (PowerShell-based)
• Incident, Problem, and Change handling in accordance with ITIL processes
• Working with ITSM / ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira)
• Collaboration with international teams and stakeholders 
• Documentation of operational procedures and solutions

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of documented experience in application or system support
• Experience with Windows Server administration (ideally 2019+)
• Experience supporting Java applications running on Tomcat and Apache
• Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL required; Oracle/MySQL as advantage)
• Experience with ITSM / ticketing tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira, similar)
• English language proficiency – minimum B2 (daily working language)
• Ability to work in structured, process-driven (ITIL-aligned) environments

Nice to Have

• German language skills (minimum B2) – strong advantage

• ITIL certification (v3, v4 or newer)

• Microsoft certification, especially related to Windows Server administration

• Linux knowledge and basic administration – strong advantage
