Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Test Engineer to join our engineering team and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of cutting-edge microservices and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automated and manual testing, API testing, performance benchmarking, and CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in testing frameworks, scripting languages, and a solid understanding of containerized environments are essential. This role requires excellent communication skills in English, a passion for quality assurance, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Testing Strategy & Execution: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the quality of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Automation Frameworks: Develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks using tools like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• API Testing: Perform end-to-end API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
• Performance & Load Testing: Conduct performance, load, and stress testing using tools like JMeter or Locust to ensure systems meet scalability requirements.
• Kubernetes & Containers: Test containerized applications within Kubernetes environments, validating deployment configurations, scaling, and failover scenarios.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback on code changes.
• Bug Tracking & Reporting: Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to define test requirements and improve test coverage.
• Quality Metrics: Monitor and report on quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Security Testing: Perform basic security tests to validate API security and data integrity, focusing on common vulnerabilities. Note: Advanced penetration testing is out of scope.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in software testing, with at least 6 years in automated testing for microservices and distributed systems.
• Automation Expertise: Proven experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• API Testing: Strong expertise in testing RESTful APIs, including tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Performance Testing: Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or similar.
• Containerized Environments: Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes, with experience testing containerized applications.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Hands-on experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Skills (Advantageous but Not Required)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of tools like Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and validation.
• Understanding of distributed messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) systems or related technologies.

The annual starting gross salary is €55,000. Your actual annual target income will be determined in line with market conditions based on your qualifications and experience.
