Mainframe IMS Specialist (IMS DB/DC Administrator & Support Engineer)

We are looking for a Mainframe IMS Specialist to support and maintain IBM IMS environments running on IBM z/OS. In this role, you will work on the administration, support, optimization, and ongoing improvement of business-critical Mainframe systems while collaborating with global teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain IMS DB and IMS TM/DC environments.

• Assist with installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

• Monitor system performance and help identify optimization opportunities.

• Troubleshoot incidents and contribute to problem resolution.

• Participate in change implementations and system enhancements.

• Support automation, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

• Contribute to backup, recovery, and availability processes.

Skills & Experience

We are interested in professionals with experience in Mainframe environments and exposure to some of the following technologies:

• IBM z/OS

• IMS DB and/or IMS TM/DC

• JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF

• DBRC, VSAM

• REXX or other scripting tools

• Mainframe monitoring and scheduling tools

• Performance tuning, backup and recovery concepts

Additional experience with DB2, IBM MQ, COBOL, PL/I, Java, CICS, or automation initiatives would be an advantage.
