Who we looking for?

We are looking for a seasoned Solution Architect for Data Platforms, like you to join our dynamic team. In your role you will be responsible for designing and implementing data-related platforms in the Azure cloud, that align with the organization's business objectives and technical requirements. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including development, operations, and security teams, to ensure that data storage, management, and retrieval solutions are efficient, scalable, and secure. This position may require occasional travel within Europe.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop and document architectural solutions and designs for data storage, management, and retrieval. Create high-level and detailed design documentation, including architecture diagrams of data platforms, data flow diagrams, data models, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
• Ensure that data solutions are aligned with the overall architectural principles and standards of the organization.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate data solutions into the overall platform.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and optimization of data storage and management systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to implementation and operations teams on data best practices and technologies.
• Work closely with other Solution Architects, including those specializing in Azure, messaging, observability, and infrastructure, to ensure cohesive and integrated solutions.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure project team to align the design with the established cloud environment.
• Collaborate with the security team to ensure that data solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Ensure that data solutions are designed for high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for data systems to proactively identify and address issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing data solutions.
• Proven experience in architecture and design of complex data systems, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Hands-on experience with database technologies, including but not limited to MongoDB, SQL databases, Elasticsearch databases, or other NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in data modeling, data integration, indexing, sharding, data lifecycle strategies, data backup and recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of data security best practices, including data encryption, access controls, and data masking.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements.
• Experience with implementation data services in cloud.
• Experience with scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Relevant data-related certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent
