The Role
We are looking for an experienced Consulting Business Architect to join our team. This is a mid-level consulting role, responsible for leading consulting workstreams, so previous experience in consulting or professional service industry is required.
This role is focused on shaping business-led solutions and supporting the successful delivery of large, complex transformation programmes. You will work with senior client stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives, business challenges, operating environment, and transformation priorities. You will translate these requirements into coherent end-to-end solution architectures that connect business capabilities, processes, people, data, applications, integration, and technology.
Rather than focusing solely on technical architecture, you will take a broader, business-oriented view of transformation. You will help define the future-state vision, assess organisational capabilities and constraints, identify transformation opportunities, and create practical roadmaps that move clients from their current state to their desired outcomes. You will help ensure that proposed solutions are strategically aligned, commercially viable, technically deliverable, and capable of achieving measurable business value.
Key responsibilities include:
- Business-led solution architecture: Shape end-to-end solutions that translate business strategy and transformation objectives into clearly defined capabilities, operating models, processes, information flows, applications, and enabling technologies
- Large-scale transformation: Support the design and delivery of complex business and digital transformation programmes across public-sector and regulated-industry environments
- Current and future-state assessment: Assess existing business capabilities, processes, systems, and operating constraints, and define future-state architectures aligned with the client’s strategic goals
- Transformation roadmaps: Develop pragmatic transition architectures, implementation roadmaps, and transformation plans that connect strategic ambition with achievable delivery outcomes
- Senior stakeholder engagement: Build trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders, helping them understand architectural options, dependencies, risks, trade-offs, and investment priorities
- Consulting and facilitation: Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and executive workshops using structured, hypothesis-led analysis to define problems, test assumptions, and build alignment around proposed solutions
- Cross-functional leadership: Work across multidisciplinary teams, including business transformation, strategy, change, data, AI, cloud, applications, security, and programme delivery specialists
- End-to-end solution integrity: Ensure that business, data, application, integration, security, and technology components form a coherent solution and remain aligned throughout the transformation lifecycle
- Business case development: Contribute to options assessments, investment cases, value propositions, benefits identification, and the articulation of measurable transformation outcomes
- Technology enablement: Understand how cloud platforms, digital technologies, data, automation, and AI can enable new business capabilities and improve organisational performance
- AI-enabled transformation: Apply a practical understanding of AI concepts and integration patterns, including agentic AI, MLOps, data pipelines, and responsible AI considerations, when shaping future business solutions
- Governance and assurance: Support architecture governance, design assurance, and decision-making, ensuring that solutions meet business, security, compliance, and delivery requirements
