We are looking for a Senior Linux System Administrator with Solaris & French for our growing team.

 

As a dedicated systems administrator, you'll be the backbone of our technical operations, proactively maintaining and optimizing complex infrastructure. Your role demands technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly across teams to ensure smooth, reliable IT services.

Professional Skills:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (at least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role);
  •  Solid Unix Solaris knowledge and experience in system administration;
  •  Solaris 10 or 11 Oracle Certified Professional and ITIL certification is a plus;
  • Solaris (various versions) OS performance tuning & troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving contention in CPU, memory, networking, disk I/O;
  • Solaris system administration (packages, patching, user’s setup and maintenance, ACLs, resource management, securing base installations, discovering basic hardware issues, ...);
  • Experience with command-line tools (AWK, sed, grep, ...) and one or more scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, ...);
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, and an overview of load balancing clusters;
  •  Basic understanding of processes and terminology of IT layers neighbouring the operating systems (hardware, databases, Middleware, storage) is preferred;
  • Basic understanding of DNS, email, web servers, databases;
  •  Basic awareness of IT tools such as BSA/Flexera/Nagios/monitoring tools;
  •  Initiated in working with hypervisors (VMWare, Solaris Logical Domains, zones) – considered an advantage;
  • Ansible, Chef, Puppet Automation tools – an advantage;
  • Storage management OS Part: Create/Extend filesystems, SAN, EMC, ISCSI, add/extend new disks, multipath, Logical Volume Manager, Partition;
  • Networking: Configure Interfaces, Bonding, Add routes, NFS, Samba;
  • Prove of passing of exams for Unix System Administrator job role here   (ideally with some at master level) will compensate most of the requirements above.

 

What will you be doing:

  • Install, configure, test and patch operating systems including security packages;
  • Work with different internal teams to understand product domains and address documentation/training needs;
  • Maintain and grow a production environment in a way that makes the system increasingly maintainable;
  • Participate in support for production issues and upgrades, and pre-production installations at varying levels;
  • Monitor services that are provided to customers;
  • Work to resolve a running queue of system related support tickets and debug complex problems as they arise;
  • Available for on call activities -standby support outside business hours.
