Performance Management Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Owning and Developing the features required for the Prometheus monitoring system

• Maintaining product feature roadmap

• Rolling out the upgrades to the Prometheus monitoring system and integrating

• Designing the workflow for Prometheus-based performance monitoring across teams.

• Maintaining and monitoring components across the ecosystem (internal and external)

• Configuring high availability, redundancy

• Efficient Health monitoring of multiple components using centralized dashboards, for different servers such as Nifi, Hadoop, Flink, Rabbit MQ (+ Others), overall server health, custom applications running on the cluster

• Configuring fine-tuned alerting for critical issues.

• Preparing Technical Documents and Process documents with the integration of architectural information and pictorial representations.

• Managing the performance management workflow, once designed with a small, skilled team reporting to you

• Taking care of complex customer environments and modifying the Prometheus rollout and information capture to account for this

• Upgrading Prometheus across customers as the need arises when new features come online

Qualifications:

• Bachelor/ Master’s Degree

• Certifications in Prometheus (or a similar performance management system) and Linux

• 4+ Years of Work Experience in a similar role

• Experience in Workflow Management, Dashboarding

Required skills:

• Knowledge and hands-on experience in building and managing Prometheus ecosystem(or equivalent performance management system) components across a wide base of customers and monitoring said components through Prometheus

• Good hands-on experience with Linux, its commands, and scripting is a must.

• General operational excellence, self-driven, and comfortable in working without guides/sops. Comfortable in developing processes and manuals for both technology and people. This includes good troubleshooting skills, an understanding of the system’s capacity and bottlenecks, memory management, performance tuning, and optimization for Linux and Hadoop.

• Configuration management and deployment exposure in Open source environment.

• Recommending and implementing fine-tuning of performance alerts

• Knowledge of Prometheus or the ability to learn Prometheus is a must

• Knowledge of NiFi, Hadoop, is a plus

• Knowledge of Core Java is a plus.

• Good project management skills and stakeholder management.
