Your job in a nutshell:

 You'll be an AIX Systems Engineer responsible for keeping enterprise infrastructure running smoothly and securely.

Your day-to-day activities involve managing the AIX systems, troubleshooting issues and driving automation initiatives.


What will you be doing

  •  Install, configure, and upgrade AIX operating systems and associated software;
  • Administer and maintain multi-server AIX environments in an enterprise setting;
  • Perform routine system monitoring, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal system performance;
  • Implement and manage high availability (HA) solutions such as PowerHA (formerly HACMP);
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies, ensuring robust data backup and recovery procedures;
  • Configure and manage Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and file systems (JFS2);
  • Work with SAN (Storage Area Network) technologies, including connecting AIX servers to SAN storage;
  • Optimize storage allocation and perform regular system audits;
  • Implement regular system patches, updates, and security configurations;
  • Configure and manage LPARs (Logical Partitions) and WPARs (Workload Partitions);
  • Automate routine tasks such as backups, monitoring, and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English (French language knowledge would be great);
  • Proficiency in AIX 6.1, 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 versions;
  • In-depth knowledge of Logical Volume Manager (LVM), NFS, and JFS2;
  • Experience with PowerVM, LPARs, WPARs, and VIOS;
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (nmon, topas, etc.);
  • Strong scripting skills (KornShell, Bash, Perl, or Python);
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, SAN, and backup/recovery solutions;
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards, including patch management and system hardening;
  • Linux and Solaris knowledge.
