Shift Schedule: Dayshift

Work set-up: Hybrid, Taguig/Makati

 

As an Infrastructure Reliability Engineer, you will be part of the on-premises server engineering team. You will be working with some of the latest infrastructure technologies and methodologies to design, implement, migrate and maintain the on-prem server infrastructure as well as being involved in key project work. 

                                                                                                                                   

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage windows server management plus VMware and hybrid cloud infrastructure in DR and production environments
  • Private cloud experience in a converged infrastructure environment
  • VMware upgrade process from lower to later version ie: vSphere 5.5 to 6.0, 6.5, 6.7.
  • Hardware firmware/BIOS upgrade ie: Cisco UCS Rack/Blade/Chassis.
  • Exposure to infra services, security concepts and best practices, virtualization, storage and database technologies
  • Windows server administration (Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) and related services (Active Directory, DNS, RDS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Server builds, server configuration, server deployments plus patching and hardening
  • Perform server security hardening plus managing and supporting on-going patch management processes
  • Knowledge of software deployment technologies, configuration management and patch management procedures such as SCCM 2012 or later.
  • Experience with compliance and audit activities for enforcement of policies, standards and procedures
  • Familiarity with scripting and programming (batch, PowerShell, shell script and VB)
  • Experience with IT transformation, data center consolidations and migrations
  • Understanding of and experience with ITIL processes
  • A solid understanding of risk, security, and compliance requirements and best practices
  • Good understanding of networking infrastructure and network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, DHCP, Load balancing, Replication, SSH)
  • Able to support enterprise infrastructure and assist in the day-to-day operation of the team
  • Strong and reliable team player with the ability to manage change and work independently
  • Solid understanding of project scheduling and task driven project work
  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written)

 

Good to Have:   

 

  • A dedication to customer satisfaction and getting it right the first time 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across a broad technology environment 
  • Ability to self-manage work time engagements and prioritize multiple tasks and problems 
  • Windows, VMware and any Cloud certification
  • An in-depth understanding of hyper converged Infrastructure architecture
  • Competency in scripting (Bash, Ruby, PowerShell)
  • Strong communication and technical skills, prior experience with mentoring teams and working in a process driven environment

 

Basic Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for coordinating, testing, deploying and validating security patches
  • Support the operation and maintenance of the VMware virtual infrastructure including, but not limited to, VMware, x86 & x64 Windows and Linux infrastructure
  • Provide logging reports for performance, troubleshooting and capacity planning
  • Provide technical support for incidents and problem resolution from an infrastructure services perspective
  • Create, maintain and review operational and technical documentation
  • Plan and perform change activities following ML in-house change management policy and procedures
  • Perform technology upgrades, migrate and applying patches or firmware updates to the virtual infrastructure software or hardware
  • Support the design and configuration of complex system landscapes
  • Provide work guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Provide on-call support by responding to support calls both during and after business hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns
  • Participate in DR drills
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and service orientation
  • Ability to follow up on project processes be results-oriented and self-motivated

 

Qualifications

 

  • A tertiary education in, and/or in-depth hands-on working experience within the technology infrastructure mentioned above
