We're looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Consultant – Exadata to serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for all Oracle Exadata infrastructure, including architecture design, capacity planning, patching, and lifecycle management. Plan and execute Exadata hardware migrations (e.g., X8 → X11), including pre-migration assessments, compatibility validation, data migration strategy, and post-migration validation. Monitor and optimize Exadata performance across compute, storage, and networking layers using tools like ExaCLI, dcli, and ILOM. 

 

What will you be doing:

  • Administer and maintain KVM-based virtualized environments running Oracle workloads, including provisioning, resource allocation, and guest OS management.
  • Ensure proper Oracle licensing alignment within KVM/fractional configurations and work closely with procurement and licensing teams as needed.
  • Troubleshoot hypervisor-level issues affecting Oracle database performance and availability.
  • Manage Oracle Enterprise Linux environments across the integrated systems estate, including patching (ksplice/yum), hardening, kernel tuning, and compliance.
  • Perform general server administration duties: storage management (ASM, ZFS), network configuration, user/access management, and backup/recovery procedures.
  • Maintain and enforce configuration standards, documentation, and runbooks for all managed environments.
  • Act as the escalation point and technical decision-maker for the Integrated Systems team.
  • Mentor junior team members, conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, and develop operational runbooks.Collaborate with DBA, networking, security, and application teams to support end-to-end service delivery.
  • Participate in change management, incident response, and root cause analysis for production environments.

 

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure with a strong focus on Oracle technologies.
  • Deep expertise with Oracle Exadata (administration, patching, migration, performance tuning)
  • Experience with at least one major hardware generation migration (e.g., X8 → X11 or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of KVM virtualization running Oracle workloads, including fractional/pinned CPU configurations.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL 7.x/8.x/9.x), including kernel tuning, ksplice patching, and security hardening.
  • Solid Linux server administration skills: storage (ASM, LVM, ZFS), networking, scripting (Bash/Python), and monitoring.
  • Experience with Oracle database concepts sufficient for infrastructure-level troubleshooting (RAC, ASM, Data Guard awareness).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills — you can explain a migration plan to both engineers and leadership.

 

Preferred

  • Familiarity with automation/IaC tools such as Ansible, in Oracle environments.
  • Exposure to Oracle ILOM, dcli, ExaCLI, and Exadata storage server (cell) administration.
  • ITIL foundations or experience working within structured change/incident management frameworks.    
  • Experience leading or mentoring a small infrastructure team.
