For our Global Business Services Center (GBSC), located in TSUM Business Center, we are looking for a Tax Specialist (UK).

 

The Tax Specialist role will be responsible for region UK&I. Together with the Corporate Tax Manager, the Tax Specialist will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of UK corporate tax compliance and reporting. Separately, the Tax Specialist will also assist with VAT compliance work (20% of the role). Further opportunities will be available to work on tax advisory projects, such as R&D tax relief, transfer pricing, debt cap, corporate interest restrictions, and controlled foreign companies. The role requires knowledge of the main corporate and VAT taxation principles, deferred tax accounting and would suit someone with knowledge of UK corporate taxation. On-the-job training will be provided.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns for all companies in the UK Group
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and deal with any queries or inquiries
  • Assistance with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation
  • Support the group's SAO certification process
  • Preparation of tax accounting schedules and group reporting schedules for the UK and Ireland bi-annual tax reporting under IFRS including budgets and forecasts.
  • Preparation of current and deferred tax provision accounting journals for UK statutory accounts and related tax disclosure notes.
  • Assisting with debt cap, corporate interest restrictions, and controlled foreign companies, withholding tax reclaims, treaty clearances, tax certificates.
  • Complete VAT reconciliation for one UK entity.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Partial Exemption Calculations.
  • Maintain an awareness of changes in UK tax legislation including VAT.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 5 years + experience in accounting, corporate tax and vat
  • In-house experience in tax compliance  
  • Tax accounting and reporting experience under IFRS
  • Knowledge of main tax principles – deferred tax; Conditions to recognize deferred tax; timing and permanent differences.  
  • VAT – general principles like input (when to recover) and output VAT, taxable supplies, exempt supplies, VAT records, VAT invoices, time of supply, VAT returns, VAT account.  
  • Fluent English language level
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Willingness to learn and develop in the tax area and UK tax legislation
  • Values stability, keen to grow, and willing to develop long-term
