Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Senior Finance Business Partner to act as a strategic deputy to the Finance Director. This pivotal role will lead financial oversight and strategic support across the Retail Core and Retail Change portfolios, while holding overarching responsibility for the account in the Director’s absence. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, driving financial performance, supporting transformation initiatives, and ensuring robust governance across projects and operations.  

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

    • Represent Finance in senior forums, driving strategic decision-making and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Develop partnerships and relationships with finance teams and partners to develop a deep understanding of expectations, demands, and internal processes.
    • Actively look for ways to challenge costs that are incurred in the organization.
    • Provide oversight and challenge across the full account, ensuring financial integrity and performance. 
    • Partner with operational leads to drive cost efficiency, value creation, and delivery of strategic priorities. 
    • Ensure robust financial governance, benefits tracking, and investment appraisal for all projects. 
    • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights to support decision-making. 
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, aligned with internal and external requirements. 
    • Drive improvements in forecasting accuracy, budgeting processes, and financial systems.
    • Detailed analysis of departmental performance and cost drivers.

 

Job Requirements:

 

    • Bachelor's or Master's in Business Administration/ Accounting/ Finance, or ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
    • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
    • Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience. Excellent IFRS 15 knowledge and application experience.
    • Proven track record of business partnering, supporting and leading projects and transformation programmes. 
    • Excellent business orientation, with understanding of key drivers, issues, constraints, etc. of the business.
    • Ability to understand complex issues and ambiguity, and implement innovative solutions to problems
    • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate at a strategic level. 
    • A driver of change and constantly looking for improvements.
    • Pro-active behaviors that demonstrate initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.
