  1. Introduction

The Senior Project Manager for Discovery manages large scale Data Centre migration projects that involve more than 3000 servers and leads the effort in discovery of the application landscape and architecture prior to the actual migration. S/he is responsible for the creation of project implementation plans based on information provided in the Solution Brief and/or Scope of Work.

The Senior Project Manager owns the end-to-end project delivery process, including development and management of project schedules, managing resources and resource allocations for project deliverables, communications workflow, raising red flags to the Governance Leader and Team Leader as risks and issues arise and ensuring adherence to the Bank’s stringent approval process.

The Senior Project Manager assigned to Standard Chartered Bank (SCB Account) is expected to assume volume-based assignment of Request for Service (RFS) at any point of time. The Senior Project Manager must have a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end project management that entails managing and working with creative teams and partners to operate at scale and efficiency.

  1. Core Responsibilities
  1. Contact customer within 3 days of new assignment to acknowledge new assignment
  2. Conduct kick-off meeting for new assignments with internal and external stakeholders within two-week of new assignment
  3. Ensure change of date is informed/agreed with customer and is supported by artefact
  4. Regular review of RFS status with customer and highlight potential breach of project completion deadline
  5. Change coordinator with the following responsibilities in the RFS context:
  • Submit Change Request via BMC Remedy
  • Ensure there is no conflict with other scheduled changes or change freeze during the proposed implementation window
  • Verify/coordinate the availability of change implementers
  • Ensure all lead times are adhered to
  • Coordinate with change approvers to ensure all the approvals are received prior to the cut-off time
  • Coordinate change activities with implementation team
  • Ensure that the task implementers update the task to “closed” status immediately acter the completion of the assigned task
  • Responsible and accountable to review and confirm the change completion status after all the tasks have been implemented by implementers
  1. Highlight any risks and issues to stakeholders throughout implementation of RFS
  2. Escalate to governance lead on potential risks and issues in RFS
  3. Manage expectations of customer on realistic timeline
  4. Manage assigned technical resource to execute RFS scope accordingly
  5. Identify scope creep and advise customer on options to proceed
  1. Qualifications
  • Hold Bachelor in relevant field. Otherwise, may hold a relevant professional qualification.
  • Minimally 10+ years in managing saleable Information Technology project ideally in an Outsourcing implementation within an International Banking Financial Services.  This refers to Project Manager Seniority Level as outlined by ‘Atos University PM Assessment of PM Career Level and Experience Matrix’ [Reference: Appendix A - PM Global Career Level and Experience @ Atos University]
  • Must have at least one of External Project Management Certification. Basis for all PM to have knowledge of Project Management Methodology.   PM External Certification (PM/PRINCE2/IPMA) is Atos way of a measure of the PM acquiring the knowledge [Reference: Appendix B - Project Management External Certification]
  1. Skillset and Experience
  • Must have experience in delivering large scale Data Centre Migration projects (>3000 servers)
  • Hands-on experience in discovery & analysis of applications landscape and relationships prior to actual migration.
  • Able to perform independent assessment and make sound recommendation on migration strategy and detailed execution plans.
  • Preferably have exposure to various tools used to perform discovery, especially Device42, is a big advantage.
  • Able to both guide the team through day to day technical issues and communicate effectively to senior executives both internally and externally at a high level. 
  • Ability to create strategic impact of projects to deliver business results
  • Have good business acumen with proven record of demonstrating high degree of financial awareness and accountability for projects of fixed price engagement model
  • Shows evidence of critical thinking, analytical ability and attention to detail in creating and executing project work plans to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Have overseen and perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis at project-level with a solid understanding of general risk management concepts, disciplines and processes
  • Able to demonstrate as a self-motivated independent individual with extreme detailed process- orientation and ability to multitask in a fast paced under tight deadline
  • Ability to act autonomously role to influence with limited management direction:
  • Strong team player and proven ability to partner across the organization and achieve results working through high performing teams
  • Executive presence, maturity, and solid senior stakeholder management skills with proven ability to operate at the level of operations/Business Line Manager customer-facing liaison
  • Experience in the development of and the delivery of presentations and proposals to clients
  • Excellent and strong communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to write formal documents and clear concise business communications in English Language
