Business Development Director
Location: Singapore

 

About the job: 
This Business Development Director will play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth within the information technology sector, with a focus on expanding the Company’s footprint in high-value markets such as financial services (FSI) and Public Sector. 


The individual will leverage deep experience in IT sales, solution selling, and business development to take full ownership of the end-to end sales lifecycle.  Responsibilities include identifying opportunities, building and managing a robust pipeline, leading bid and proposal development, and overseeing contract negotiation.  

 

This role demands a strong hunter mindset, the capability to engage and influence C-level stakeholders, and the expertise to architect flexible, cross portfolio technology solutions tailored to complex client needs.  

 

The role requires a proactive, results-oriented professional who can simultaneously generate new business while deepening and expanding existing client relationships.     

 

In addition, this role involves extensive cross-functional collaboration, partnering closely with internal teams to develop competitive offerings, support marketing initiatives, and ensure excellence in client engagement

 

Main Role and Responsibilities:

  • Business Generation & Expansion: Proactively drive new business opportunities (“hunter” mindset) and expand existing client accounts, focusing on high-value sectors such as financial services and public sector. 
  • CxO Relationship Building: Establish, nurture, and leverage strong relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers. Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs and aligning solutions accordingly.
  • Independent & High-Level Engagement: Demonstrate independence and initiative in identifying prospects, engaging at the highest organizational levels (“call high”), and opening doors for strategic conversations.
  • Sales Targets & Pipeline Development: Own and exceed sales targets. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and ensure consistent achievement of sales and revenue targets.
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within targeted sectors. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and aligning Atos solutions accordingly. 
  • Offer Process Management: Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of the entire offer process, incorporating all relevant customer information and requirements.
  • Internal Approval & Bid Management: Actively participate in the internal approval processes. Collaborate with pre-sales and other delivery units to assess opportunities, risks, and craft winning proposals.
  • Contract Negotiation: Organize and lead contract negotiations, providing solution-oriented responses to customer inquiries and needs, while ensuring alignment with approved offer frameworks.
  • CRM & Pipeline Maintenance: Accurately map and maintain business opportunities and pipeline data in Atos' CRM system, ensuring transparency and up-to-date information.
  • Market & Customer Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of the market, customers, and competitors. Provide insightful reporting on business development progress and create qualified decision-making templates.
  • Campaign Participation: Initiate and participate in the execution of sales and marketing campaigns to drive awareness and generate new business opportunities. 

 

Key Requirements:

  • At least 12-15 years of experience in sales, business development, within the information technology sector, with a focus on project, solution, or product sales.
  • Proven experience working with system integrators and managing clients in either the FSI or public sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of information and communication technologies and experience designing flexible, cross-portfolio solutions based on customer needs.
  • Target-Oriented: Ability to set, track, and exceed sales targets, with a structured and goal-oriented approach to managing client engagements and business opportunities.
  • Self-Motivation & Initiative: High level of self-motivation, independence, and creative problem-solving
  • Hunter Profile: Demonstrated ability to set, track, and exceed ambitious sales targets with a structured, goal-oriented approach.
  • Customer-Focused: Strong customer orientation with a high level of initiative and lateral thinking to design creative solutions for clients.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders in a clear and target-oriented manner.
  • Bid Management: Competence in bid management, preparation of proposals, and coordination of resources across internal departments.
