About the role:

The IT Delivery Manager will provide senior leadership and direction across multidisciplinary IT delivery teams operating onshore, nearshore, and offshore, ensuring seamless, highquality delivery across all locations. The role requires aligning the IT delivery model with customer objectives and evolving business strategies, driving consistency, efficiency, and measurable value through clear governance, performance management, and proactive stakeholder engagement. The role also ensures that IT services are reliable, scalable, and fully aligned to support the organisation’s strategic outcomes by promoting operational excellence, strengthening delivery processes, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 Strategic & Operational Leadership:

  • Lead alignment between IT delivery and senior stakeholders, ensuring services meet strategic and contractual expectations. 
  • Drive crosstower coordination, performance management, and operational resilience across onshore/nearshore/offshore teams. 
  • Identify and shape opportunities for service optimisation, innovation, and account growth.
  • Identify and drive cost Optimisation

 

Technical Delivery & Modernisation:

  • Maintain strong understanding of architecture, platforms, integrations, and technical environments. 
  • Guide improvements in reliability, security, availability, and efficiency through collaboration with architects and technical leads. 
  • Sponsor modernisation initiatives (cloud, automation, DevOps, digital enhancements) while ensuring governance and operational readiness.

 

Governance, Risk & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Own and manage IT governance, compliance, and risk frameworks, including the IT risk register. 
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leadership, providing clear communication and acting as SPOC for global delivery teams. 
  • Champion continuous improvement cycles, lessons learned, and servicequality enhancement programmes.

 

This role has direct line management responsibilities including:

  • DevOps teams/Testing teams/Environments teams
  • Application Management (AM) delivery teams
  • Resourcing of delivery initiatives

Note: This role is UK-based and offers a remote working opportunity, with occasional UK domestic travel as required. The successful candidate should hold or be capable of obtaining SC clearance to work with UK public sector organisations.
