The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our HR team in the UK as a Human Resources Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to gain practical, on-the-job experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification, typically a Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship (which may include the CIPD Level 3 qualification). You will be a valued member of the HR team, providing essential administrative and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Working under the guidance of experienced HR professionals, your duties will be broad and varied, focusing on supporting employees;
- Working within the HR Employee Relations Team you will be part of a team responsible for providing first line HR support to Atos within the UK&I business;
- Acting as first point of contact for HR-related queries including Reward & Recognition, Health & Safety, Employee Relations;
- Managing HR queries within the required SLA agreements using the case management system;
- Working with key stakeholders to ensure that all cases are managed on time and effectively Escalating and working with senior/experienced members of the team, to develop understanding and to resolve outstanding queries;
- Good understanding and interpretation of HR related policies and procedures providing advice and guidance as appropriate;
- Provide administrative support during employee relations meetings (e.g., disciplinary, grievance, and absence management) including taking notes;
- Assist with tracking and reporting on employee sickness absence;
- Providing ad hoc information and reports as and when required;
- General Duties: Carry out general office administration tasks, including electronic filing, scanning, and managing correspondence and assist the wider HR team with ad-hoc projects and reporting as required;
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications & Knowledge (Essential)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Mathematics.
- Willingness and commitment to successfully complete all aspects of the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship programme.
- A basic understanding of, or a strong willingness to learn about, HR processes and procedures.
Skills & Attributes (Essential)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues at all levels.
- Highly organised with a meticulous attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Good standard of IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
A collaborative team player who can also work effectively on their own initiative and manage their workload to meet deadlines.
