Due to a period of successful expansion across our organisation, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join our Microsoft Practice in Eviden.

 

The candidates must be eligible to obtain a security clearance to SC level.

 

Location: Home based
This permanent staff role can be performed remotely from within the UK to support a positive work – life balance, although we also have a network of offices across the UK which you can choose to visit from time to time.

 

Role and responsibilities:
As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the smooth and secure deployment of applications and services. Your expertise in Azure services, automation, and DevOps practices will be crucial in driving the successful delivery of software products.

 

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools to automate the build, test, and deployment processes of applications and services in Azure
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline the integration of code changes, ensuring continuous integration and automated testing practices are in place
  • Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure Bicep, or Terraform to provision and configure Azure resources
  • Build and manage containerization solutions using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) to support the deployment and scaling of containerized applications
  • Implement and configure Azure services, such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Container Instances, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking, to optimize application performance and availability
  • Define and enforce security and compliance measures in Azure, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption
  • Collaborate with operations teams to implement monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Application Insights to ensure high availability and efficient troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain documentation for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure configurations, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency, scalability, and performance of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions in Azure
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure services, DevOps tools, and industry trends to make recommendations for process improvements and technology adoption
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of DevOps practices, automation, and cloud-native solutions within the organization
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams regarding Azure services, infrastructure as code, CI/CD best practices, and application deployment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and application deployments in Azure environments
  • Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response and root cause analysis activities when required
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and advancements in the Azure ecosystem, participating in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and expertise
     

Required skills and experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Azure services, including Azure DevOps, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Container Instances, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Storage, and Azure Networking
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions such as ARM templates, Azure Bicep, or Terraform
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (AKS)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices in Azure environments
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Application Insights
  • Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Knowledge of source control systems like Git and code branching strategies
