JD Summary: The Server and VMware L3 Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and troubleshooting of the server infrastructure and VMware virtualization environment. This role requires advanced expertise in server management, virtualization technologies, and a strong focus on maintaining high availability, security, and performance of the infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
- Server Management:
- Design, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server environments.
- Perform server installations, upgrades, and patches.
- Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
- Configuration and troubleshooting in AD, DNS and DHCP
- Configuration and troubleshooting in windows clustering and high availability
- Plan and execute windows upgrades and migrations.
- VMware Administration:
- Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere environments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex VMware issues.
- Plan and execute VMware upgrades and migrations.
- Reviewing VMWare ESXi server performance
- Verifying VMWare ESXi server configuration
- Configuring VMWare ESXi for High Availability
- Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Develop and implement server and virtualization infrastructure strategies.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of the server and VMware environment.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve infrastructure performance and reliability.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage security policies and procedures for server and virtualization environments.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Design and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for server and virtualization environments.
- Perform regular backup tests and ensure data integrity and availability.
- Automation and Scripting:
- Develop and maintain scripts for automating server and VMware tasks (e.g., PowerShell, vSphere PowerCLI).
- Implement automation solutions to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Continual Service Improvement Planning and executions
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Generate regular reports on infrastructure performance, capacity, and security.
- Preparation of RCA for Major Incidents
- Preparing, maintaining and updating of SOP and KB Articles
- Repeated Incident / Alert Analysis

- Drive the Incident / Problem / Change management with help of team
- Maintaining and updating of Infra AS IS / Infra Documents
- Mentoring and Support:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers (L1/L2).
- Assist with training and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Project Management:
- Lead and participate in infrastructure-related projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular project updates.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP, MCSE, etc.), but this is not mandatory criteria.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in server administration and VMware virtualization at an advanced level.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies.
- Expertise AD, DNS and DHCP
- Strong knowledge of Windows and ESXi server administration.
- Experience with SAN/NAS storage solutions and their integration with VMware.
- Proficiency with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Veritas).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, PowerCLI).
- Expertise in windows clustering
- ITSM tools hands on for processes of Incident / Problem / Change management
- Datacenter process knowledge
- Knowledge of Service improvement Plan
- Performance tuning implementation suggested by OEM or product vendor
- VMware and Hyper-V Hotfix installation
- Planning and execution of DR Drills based on availability of DR setup and recovery procedures
- Knowledge of Service improvement Plan

Working Conditions:
