Role description in brief

Transition Manager plays an important role within IDM India in ensuring that all new business is transitioned in a smooth way, with minimal disturbance to customer business. Role requires person to have hands-on experience in leading cross functional workstream and possess sound knowledge on infrastructure tooling and account set-up.This role also requires the ability to advice, challenge & work closely with Senior Management from all Delivery units & support units. He/She will draw on previous experience of Project Management to successfully run high profile transition work to ensure a very strong basis for Delivery units to initiate support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver Transition & Transformation projects in line with Atos agreed Methodology.
  2. Responsible for service transition, account set-up and managing cross-functional workstream
  3. Responsible for end to end project life cycle, handling virtual teams and influencing stakeholders to meet  Programme  / Project objectives
  4. Manage day to day Transition Project Communication with all stakeholders.
  5. Produce relevant reports accurately, at agreed frequency & in a timely manner to provide status update on Transition to all stakeholders.
  6. Adhere to agreed escalation process to escalate resource issues, delays in project, missed deadlines & any other planning/execution issues.
  7. Monitor the project/program ensuring all risks are captured & mitigations actions put in place and issues are resolved in timely manner.
  8. Ability to manage multiple small Transitions/Phases/waves simultaneously.
  9. Develop & maintain communication at all levels across the project organization to facilitate smooth & effective change management leading to effective delivery of project.
  10. Contribute in Process improvement & further strengthening of successful Transitions.
  11. Willing to work in North America time zone

12 to 20 Years

Relevant Experience:

  1. Minimum 5-10 years of global project management experience
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of global Transition/Transformation experience in IT Infrastructure Management domain, especially into service transition, account setup and establishing cross functional services
  3. Should have worked on multiple medium scale or large scale transitions
  4. Should have played people management role in his career
  5. Demonstrated superior customer relationship and communication skills
  6. Successful experience in utilizing project management methodologies, best practices and processes
  7. Be responsible for ensuring successful execution of the defined project scope
  8. Ability to lead project teams
  9. Track record of success in a highly matrix environment
  10. Demonstrated experience in implementing new technologies
  11. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Project
  12. Need to be flexible with respect to working times, based on GBU timings for whom the Transition is being managed
  13. May require travel either national or international and may be at short notice.


Additional experience (Preferable)

  1. Actively participates in RFP’s/RFI’s for the T&T part of new bids
  2. Sound knowledge of any 02 of these Infrastructure Skill Set Areas such as WAN LAN, Server Hardware, OS, Wireless LAN, Structured Cabling, New Site setup, Datacenter Management, Infrastructure management tools and Service Desk Management.
  3. Understanding of IT infrastructure tools and ITIL process

PMI PMP/ Prince 2 Practitioner and ITIL certified  preferred
