Role: SAP S4HANA Finance Solution Architect

Location: Mumbai / Bangalore / Chennai

R2R Business Process & Industry Expertise

• Ability to assess business requirements, challenge non-standard requirements where appropriate, and recommend SAP leading-practice solutions that maximize standard functionality while minimizing custom development and technical debt.

• Demonstrated expertise in Record-to-Report (R2R) business processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, Margin Analysis, Group Reporting, and Financial Close.
• Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end finance processes and their integration touchpoints with Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Treasury, Tax, and Enterprise Reporting solutions.
• Demonstrates extensive business process expertise and industry domain knowledge, with proven experience in defining target operating models, designing and adapting global templates, assessing localization requirements, and governing template adoption across multi-country SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Proven track record in driving business process harmonization, simplification, and global template standardization, leveraging SAP leading practices to support enterprise-wide transformation and operational excellence initiatives.

Consulting & Transformation Leadership

• Proven experience leading business process transformation initiatives leveraging SAP S/4HANA standard best practices and Fit-to-Standard principles in Finance.
• Demonstrated ability to independently plan, facilitate, and lead executive-level Process Design Workshops, Fit-to-Standard Workshops, Conference Room Pilots (CRPs), and Solution Validation Sessions.
• Ability to analyze workshop outcomes, identify process gaps, challenge legacy ways of working, and translate business requirements into scalable SAP S/4HANA solutions.
• Strong capability to document business process designs, solution decisions, fit-gap assessments, workshop outcomes, and functional architecture deliverables.
• Experience working directly with Finance Leadership, Process Owners, Controllers, Shared Service Organizations, and Executive Stakeholders.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and project leadership.
• Drives Fit-to-Standard adoption and appropriately challenges non-standard requirements to maximize utilization of SAP best practices.
• Provides thought leadership on finance transformation, process optimization, and SAP S/4HANA innovation capabilities.

SAP S/4HANA Solution Architecture Expertise

• 15+ years of SAP consulting experience, including at least 5+ years serving as an SAP S/4HANA Finance Solution Architect on large-scale transformation programs.
• Proven experience leading SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives, including Greenfield, Brownfield, and Blue field conversion and Selective Data Transition approaches.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Activate methodology across Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run phases.
• Hands-on expertise across FI, CO, AA, Treasury  related solutions.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA simplification items, Universal Journal, Embedded Analytics, SAP Fiori, Group Reporting, Material Ledger, and Margin Analysis.
• Experience defining and governing global business process templates while balancing global standardization and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Extensive experience in multi-country, multi-entity SAP S/4HANA implementation and rollout programs.
• Expertise in Evaluate Public Cloud, Private Cloud and on-premise deployment options
• Expertise in AI/Joule Skills or understanding on the AI/Joule architecture.
• Experience supporting finance and controlling data migration strategy, data governance, reconciliation, cutover planning, and business readiness activities.

Solution Governance & Delivery Leadership

• Leads cross-functional design discussions and ensures end-to-end process integration across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, and external systems.
• Provides architectural oversight throughout Explore, Realize, Testing, Deployment, and Hypercare phases.
• Ensures alignment of solution design with enterprise architecture principles, business objectives, and SAP best practices.
• Mentor functional consultants and governs solution quality across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, presentation, and consulting skills with the ability to influence both business and IT leadership.
• Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with senior executives, global process owners, and program leadership teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and workshop facilitation skills.

Certifications

• SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification preferred.
