DATA CENTER OPERATOR

• Monitoring and active Solar Winds alerting of infrastructure systems (UPS alerts, UPS temperatures, room temperature, or other outages) related to the Temple Data Center, Hospital and Clinic MER’s/FON closets. Constant activity for each shift.

• Communicating alerts to Physical Infrastructure & Closet Support (PICS) team, Data Center Infrastructure Sr. Technical Consultant or Data Center Install (DCI) team for awareness and resolution. Constant activity for each shift.

• Creation and submission of all SNOW Change Requests, Requests/Tasks and Incidents related to Data Center Operations Monitoring activities. Key trigger events are: o CBRE/BSWH Facilities generator run & load tests – 1 per hospital campus (14 Campuses) per month. Each take about 10 mins to setup. o Cooling issues with Data Center or MER/FON rooms – 5-10 every 2 weeks. Must open a work order with BSWH Facilities and then create a tracking INC until issue is resolved. o Unresolved UPS alerts or UPS status – 10-20 per month. These are forwarded to PICS team after initial creation from DC Ops or EOC.

• PATCOM billing batch schedule runs for Allscripts done on night shift 7 days a week. Duration is from 1900-midnight. A backup system and DC Operator Pat Smith resides at Spring Valley as a backup for this process.

• Ability to work varying shifts and overtime as required for PTO coverages. 2-4 times per month

• Receiving of Data Center specific equipment, Medco supply or Telecom, Network, Server or vendor deliveries. Durations will vary based on the size of the delivery but take up about 10-20 minutes on average.

• Helios Camera Intercom access calls for building main entrance, Data center doors and Hospital MER room access for Nursing Education, Vendors, Medco or other BSWH Team access such as Networking, Telecom, BioMed, Facilities or sometimes Physical Security. 20-40 times per day. Duration of each call is between 30 seconds and 2 minutes

• Receive and resolve SNOW Incidents and Requests sent back to Data Center Operations for customer confirmation and ticket closure. 2-10 per day and duration is 2-4 minutes with customer to obtain approval from customer to close the ticket.

• Enforce vendor security of the data center facilities by checking vendors against approved tickets for work in the Data Center and MER/FON rooms at all campuses. 2-5 per week. Duration is 5-8 mins per vendor during check-in or check-out.

• Conduct scheduled walkthrough of Data Center every two hours to obtain equipment amber light statuses, CRAC unit temperatures, water leak detection alarms, odd smells, security of doors and cages, vendor/guest presence. 20-30 mins per walkthrough

• Produce shift turnover log at end of each shift to leadership. Ongoing update throughout shift. Overall effort 60 minutes.

• Maintain Service Now KB Articles knowledgebase items ensuring procedures are kept current and accurate. 10-12 times per year when KB articles expire. Duration is 10 minutes to 1 hour depending on what updates are needed for the document. Tracy Haliburton is the person who normally will do this.

• Provide server support when requested by swapping or reseating hard drives and memory DIMMS. Was 1-2 times per month. Duration was about 2 minutes per event. Now SMS/Curvature is contracted to do this service.

• Provide all hardware status support or reboots as requested by other IS teams. Duration is 5-10 minutes per event and usually occurs 1-2 times per month.

• Provide manpower support to other IS Infrastructure teams such as DCI or PICS as needed or requested. 1-2 times per month and duration would vary.
