JOB DESCRIPTION
Role title: Head of PPM, ANZ
Location: Perth
Reports to: APAC Head of PPM (dotted line to Country Managing Director)
Purpose: This is a strategic leadership role accountable for national project delivery, portfolio performance, and alignment with APAC PPM standards. This position leads the Project delivery in ANZ, oversees high‑value delivery portfolios, and acts as the key liaison into APAC PPM governance, ensuring national execution remains consistent with regional strategy, methodologies, and performance measures
Strategic & Delivery Leadership
- Define and execute Australia’s project delivery strategy aligned with APAC PPM vision and organisational goals.
- Lead PMO development, delivery frameworks, and capability uplift.
- Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of complex national portfolios.
- Manage project performance, capacity planning, prioritisation, and resource allocation.
- Ensure timely escalation of risk, issues, and dependencies into APAC governance channels.
- Provide executive-level guidance for major programs, transformation initiatives, and escalations.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Engage senior executives, clients, and cross‑functional leaders to ensure alignment on delivery outcomes.
- Act as the national escalation point for critical project delivery matters and customer issues.
- Build strong, collaborative working relationships with APAC PPM and global delivery teams.
People Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and PMO managers.
- Establish competency frameworks and development pathways aligned to APAC expectations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, delivery excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Protect margin via cost control, change discipline and commercial governance; support SOW negotiation and risk management; ensure billing/collections health
- Ensure adherence to APAC financial compliance practices including WBS accuracy, reporting discipline, and cost controls.
Governance, Standards & APAC Reporting
- Implement and enforce project governance aligned with APAC methodologies, SteerCo+ standards, RAID expectations, and compliance requirements.
- Provide structured, data‑driven reporting to APAC leadership covering financial health, delivery performance, utilisation, and risk posture.
- Participate in APAC PPM leadership reviews, contribute to regional planning, and ensure Australia’s delivery portfolio meets regional KPIs.
Desired knowledge and skills
- 12–15+ years’ program/project leadership with national portfolio ownership and PMO leadership.
- Proven delivery of multi‑stream portfolios; turnaround experience; executive Stakeholder management.
- Strong governance, risk, financial control and executive communication.
- Experience in Defence or/and health industry experience is desirable.
