Mission
Provide expert legal counsel and strategic leadership on matters related to data protection, artificial intelligence, intellectual property (IP) and Tech regulations across all Atos companies. Report to the Group Data Protection Officer and Group Head of IP, AI & Tech regulations. Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of legal and compliance frameworks for AI, data protection, and IP, ensuring alignment with global regulatory requirements and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Legal Advisory

Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements related to data processing, AI solutions, and IP licensing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations (including GDPR and emerging AI regulations).

Help with the implementation of Group-wide strategies for AI governance, data protection, and IP management.

Monitor and interpret evolving legal and regulatory requirements in AI, data protection, and IP, providing proactive guidance to business units and leadership.

Identify legal risks and opportunities for improvement, contributing to the design and implementation of structural, procedural, and policy enhancements.
Compliance and Risk Management

Oversee the implementation of data protection and privacy policies, including those related to AI, across global operations.

Review and advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), AI risk assessments at the global level.

Coordinate with local and regional legal teams, Data Protection Officers, and IP specialists to ensure consistent application of legal standards and best practices.

Support the response to data breaches, AI-related incidents, and IP disputes, advising on mitigation, notification, security measures and remediation requirements.
Organizational Leadership

Lead the Data Protection Legal Expert community

Support the setup and maintenance of legal and compliance frameworks for AI, data protection, and IP, including records of processing activities, notifications, and incident response protocols.

Provide legal support during audits and reviews of data protection, AI, and IP practices at the global level.

Take the lead on specific legal initiatives related to AI, data protection, and other Tech regulations at the Group level.
Awareness, Training, and Communication

Develop and deliver training programs on AI, data protection, and IP legal requirements for employees and stakeholders.

Organize and contribute to internal and external communications, events, and awareness campaigns (e.g., Data Protection Day, AI Ethics Day).

Identify cross-departmental training needs and support the creation and rollout of relevant training materials. (Data Protection training for all employees)
Reporting

Report on legal and compliance status, key performance indicators, significant events/incidents, and potential issues to the Head of Data Protection, Group DPO.

Contribute to annual legal and compliance reports, including data protection, AI, and regulatory matters.
Profile
-
Legal degree; admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Minimum 8 years of professional legal experience in data protection, AI, and IP, preferably in an international technology company or law firm.

Demonstrated expertise in data protection law (including GDPR), AI regulatory frameworks, and intellectual property law.

Experience advising on complex, cross-border legal matters and working as part of an international legal team.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills; fluency in English required. Business fluency in French, Spanish, German, or Portuguese is an advantage.

Certification in data protection (e.g., DPO, CIPP/E) and AI ethics, is desirable.
