Job Title: Ruby on Rails (RoR) Architect – AWS Expertise

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled RoR Architect with deep expertise in designing, architecting, and delivering scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails and AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands‑on technical capability along with architectural decision-making experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and lead development of large‑scale, high‑performance applications using Ruby on Rails.
• Define and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs, ensuring best security and performance practices.
• Lead end-to-end application lifecycle including design, development, deployment, and optimization.
• Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and guide best practices for RoR development.
• Integrate multiple data sources, third‑party services, and internal APIs.
• Ensure system scalability, reliability, and security across all architecture layers.
• Drive CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation using Git and DevOps tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product teams, and developers to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• (Preferred) Implement and manage OKTA SSO integrations.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails development.
• Proven experience architecting systems on AWS with deep knowledge of core services.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming, Ruby syntax, and idioms.
• Experience with server-side templating (Liquid, Slim) and CSS preprocessors.
• Good understanding of front-end basics: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery.
• Expertise in integrating multiple data sources/databases in distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of scalable architecture principles.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, and DevOps workflows.

Preferred

• Experience with OKTA SSO or similar identity platforms.
• Knowledge of microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud-native patterns.
• Ability to mentor and lead engineering teams.
