We are looking for a talented Firmware Design Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development, bring-up, testing, and validation of firmware solutions for next-generation server and switch platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded systems, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to deliver high-quality firmware solutions.

 

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Board, BIOS, and BSP bring-up activities for server and switch platforms.
  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain firmware for the BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) on Intel processor-based servers.
  • Develop Linux device drivers for communication with peripherals over I2C, SPI, and SMBus interfaces.
  • Prepare detailed design and technical documentation.
  • Develop new features, perform unit testing, and resolve software defects.
  • Conduct code reviews and design reviews to ensure quality and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Debug and validate firmware on target hardware platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware design teams during board bring-up and product validation phases.

 

 

Skills & Qualifications

 

Required Skills

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (BE/B.Tech).
  • Experience in board bring-up, firmware development, and hardware validation.
  • Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and work closely with hardware design teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux device driver development.
  • Strong programming skills in C.
  • Strong embedded firmware design, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of ARM architecture.
  • Good understanding of communication protocols including:
    • IPMI
    • I2C
    • SPI
    • SMBus
  • Experience with Intel Server Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and strong quality and process orientation.
  • Familiarity with Yocto and REST APIs.

 

Preferred Skills

 

  • Knowledge of Linux Kernel Internals.
  • Scripting experience (Shell, Python, or similar).
  • Experience in firmware performance optimization and system-level debugging.
