Job Name: Network Operations Engineer

Salary Range: 24,000 – 29,000 MXN 
 
 
Role Overview:
The Network Operations Engineer will be responsible for monitoring the network’s health, handling and resolving Level 2/3 incidents, and performing basic changes on Cisco equipment to ensure service availability. They will use tools such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime to manage alerts, tickets, and reports. They will analyze connectivity issues, apply operational best practices, and collaborate with internal teams and external providers for issue resolution. The role also includes maintaining updated documentation and providing support during critical or high‑priority situations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor real‑time network health and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level 2/3 network incidents.
  • Implement basic configuration changes on Cisco networking equipment.
  • Manage alerts, tickets, and operational reports using ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, and related tools.
  • Diagnose connectivity, routing, and performance issues.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external providers to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate and updated operational documentation.
  • Participate in major incident management and high‑priority situations.
Must-have Qualifications / Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
  • Strong command of BGP, EIGRP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Telnet, SSH, and FTP.
  • Hands‑on experience with monitoring platforms such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Splunk, or Infoblox.
  • Intermediate to advanced technical English level.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adaptable, and detail‑oriented.
Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or related fields.
Professional Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in NOC functions or similar network operations roles.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage high‑pressure and fast‑paced operational environments.
  • Strong teamwork and customer service orientation.
Good-to-have Qualifications / Skills:
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • ITIL knowledge or certification.
  • Familiarity with firewall technologies, VPNs, or ISP networks.
