Role Overview

 

The Lead will own the overall Pega solution architecture, translate complex business and technical

requirements into scalable designs, and provide hands-on technical leadership to Pega development

teams. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to ensure solutions meet

architectural, security, performance, integration and operational requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Own the end-to-end architecture and technical design of Pega applications.

• Lead solution design across case management, workflows, data models, integrations,

security and user experience.

• Define application architecture, reusable components, enterprise design patterns and

implementation standards.

• Provide technical leadership to Pega Senior System Architects, System Architects and

development teams.

• Review solution designs and implementation approaches to ensure compliance with Pega

guardrails and engineering best practices.

• Lead complex technical design decisions and resolve architecture and performance

challenges.

• Design scalable integration patterns using REST APIs, services, connectors, data pages,

messaging and enterprise integration technologies.

• Define appropriate authentication, authorization, access control and security architecture.

• Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including performance, scalability,

availability, resilience, security and maintainability.

• Establish appropriate application monitoring, performance optimisation and troubleshooting

approaches.

• Define DevOps, CI/CD, branching, deployment and release-management approaches for

Pega applications.

• Support production readiness, deployment planning and technical assurance activities.

• Work closely with Business Architects, Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, Security

Architects and Integration Architects.

• Translate business requirements into appropriate Pega architecture and technical solutions.

• Lead technical workshops and communicate architecture decisions clearly to both technical

and non-technical stakeholders.

• Mentor Pega engineers and support the development of engineering capability across

delivery teams.

• Perform design and code reviews and ensure technical debt is identified and appropriately

managed.

• Support estimation, delivery planning, technical risk management and dependency

management.

• Act as the Pega technical authority and escalation point throughout the delivery lifecycle.

 

Required Skills and Experience

 

• Extensive hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise applications using Pega

Platform.

• Strong experience working as a Pega Lead System Architect or Solution Architect on

large and complex programmes.

• Deep knowledge of Pega case management, application architecture, data modelling and

integration.

• Strong understanding of Pega application design principles, guardrails and reusable

architecture.

• Strong experience with REST APIs, integration services, connectors and enterprise

integration patterns.

• Experience designing secure Pega solutions including authentication, authorization and role

based/attribute-based access controls.

• Strong knowledge of Pega performance optimisation, monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Experience with Pega DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and enterprise

deployment approaches.

• Experience delivering solutions within Agile/Scrum environments.

• Ability to lead multiple Pega development teams and provide architecture governance across

workstreams.

• Strong stakeholder management, communication and technical leadership skills.

• Ability to explain complex architecture decisions to senior business and technology

stakeholders.

 

Certification

 

Mandatory: Certified Pega Lead  (CPLSA/CLSA).

 

Desirable Skills

 

• Experience with Pega Infinity '24/'25 or later.

• Experience with Pega Constellation architecture and DX API.

 

Essential Criteria – SC Eligibility

 

To be eligible for SC clearance, you must have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years.
