About the practice: 

 

The ARAA practice represents a growing capability within Eviden and currently comprises a talented team of analysts, developers, consultants and architects covering all aspects of the information management lifecycle, from data management through to business intelligence and analytics.

Eviden work with a range of large organisations facing an ever-increasing demand to realise greater value from their data, understand their business challenges, and are seeking the skills to develop advanced analytics, statistical hypotheses, and AI/ML routines.

 

About the role:

 

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to lead and mentor the growing team of data scientists, work in pre-sales and project work and define the direction of this area.

You will have a mathematics/ statistics degree or at least a strong background and keen interest in them. Also, experience in a programming language like Python, R or similar is required but additional training will be given. Knowledge of SQL is essential.

The candidates should be eligible to obtain a security clearance to the SC level. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Data Science Capability: Contribute to the data science team by delivering solutions for bids and projects within the data science domain.
  • Pre-Sales and Bid Efforts: Participate in pre-sales activities and bid processes, defining, and explaining data science solutions while addressing client RFP (Request for Proposal) and ITT (Invitation to Tender) queries.
  • Design Authority: Serve as the design authority for data science application projects, ensuring the delivery of robust and effective solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead teams of data scientists, guiding them in their work to support project and bid efforts.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor to the data science team, fostering growth and development within the team.
  • Capability Growth: Drive the growth of the data science capability within the organization.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their requirements and deliver designs and outputs in the required formats.

 

  Required Skills & Experience: 

 

  • Proven expertise in AI/ML Techniques: Extensive experience in applying artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems and drive innovation.
  • Proficiency in Programming Languages and Tools: Demonstrable experience with programming languages and data science tools, including R, Python, Matlab, Spark, Knime, and Alteryx, to develop and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Cloud Platform Experience: Strong background in working with major cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure, leveraging their services for scalable and efficient data processing and analysis.
  • Leadership in Project Teams: Proven track record of leading project teams, managing resources, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget constraints.
  • Willingness to Travel: Must be willing to travel as required to meet project and client needs.

 

Desirable Criteria:

 

  • ETL Development: Experience in Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) development, designing and implementing data pipelines to ensure the smooth flow and integration of data across systems.
