The role requires Security Clearance or ability to get SC in short timescales.

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with a strong focus on AWS and solid experience across DevOps practices, automation, and modern cloud platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of platform operations, working independently, and contributing to scalable, resilient cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strong experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and a solid understanding of cloud best practices
  • Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) with the ability to design and manage scalable, secure environments
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps methodologies, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Git/GitLab)
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming (Python, Bash or similar) to support automation and platform efficiency
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), alongside an understanding of cloud security principles

 

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt, or Puppet, and Account Factory exposure
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Artifactory administration, and GitLab Runners (ideally self-hosted)
  • Familiarity with AWS data services (Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, QuickSight)
  • Exposure to identity and access management (Entra ID, Microsoft Active Directory) and monitoring/security tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Suricata)
  • Experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS & Azure), with awareness of cloud security best practices and interest in emerging technologies
