Role Purpose

 The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Digital Business Line (BL) is responsible for defining and delivering the technical vision and strategy, driving the transformation agenda which we have embarked on.

As the Technical leader, you will share client engagements, aligning the client’s needs with business objectives and technology execution.

This senior leadership role drives the transformation agenda, leads technical business development, shapes client engagements, and ensures the successful delivery of complex solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transformation

- Shape and deliver the BL’s transformation vision, integrating product lifecycle management and AI into the operating model.

- Lead engagement with Global BL and Geo technology teams to ensure coordinated execution of the transformation strategy.

- Lead the evolution of engineering delivery from a traditional SDLC to a product/service-oriented capability model.

2. Technical Business Development

- Act as a senior technical advisor to strategic clients, shaping their thinking on Digital Applications services.

- Position the BL as a leader in AI-enabled SDLC services in partnership with Industry teams and customers.

- Provide technical leadership across bids and proposals, ensuring approaches align to modern software engineering and product delivery methods.

- Partner with the presales solutioning team to support business development activities, shaping solution approaches and integrating new service offers into the Digital portfolio.

3. Technology Strategy & Architecture

- Define and maintain the enterprise technology strategy for SDLC and AI platforms.

- Establish architectural standards and governance to ensure security, scalability, and consistency across solutions.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, providing strategic recommendations aligned with policy and legislation.

4. Technical Leadership & Team Management

- Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams and associated technical functions.

- Promote a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

5. Delivery Assurance & Governance

- Oversee technical delivery across major programmes, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and quality expectations.

- Lead gated approval processes across solution design, implementation, and deployment.

Required Skills that we’d like you to bring

- Deep knowledge of AI and its application in transforming SDLC practices.

- Expert understanding of product lifecycle management and full-stack engineering.

- Influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite and business line leadership.

- Eligibility for, or holding, UK Security Clearance (SC).

- Experience representing organisations at industry events, roundtables, and forums, and contributing to thought leadership.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with partners, suppliers, and SMEs to drive innovation and growth.

- A track record of fostering innovation through emerging technology

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC clearance.
Location: UK-based. Remote working is available, with national mobility required.
