**Remote (UK) opportunity with the requirement of occasional visits to customers/Atos offices

 

 

Your job in a nutshell:

 

We are a UK & Ireland-based team of accessibility professionals within Atos' global practice, providing B2B services to enterprise clients and engaging with bodies like the Business Disability Forum and the International Association of Accessibility Professionals.

You will be managing the accessibility testing activities on the UK&I accessibility and digital inclusion team, performing accessibility tests and writing accessibility conformance reports, and developing assistive technology interoperability strategies. As the Аccessibility Test Manager you will also be responsible for mentoring and developing more junior members of the accessibility team.

 

 

What will you be doing:

 

  • Managing accessibility test resources allocation across multiple accounts and customers

  • Providing e quality assurance on projects and provide feedback to junior team members

  • Mentoring and training new hires and junior members of the team so they understand our service methodology and work to a consistent standard

  • Independently performing accessibility audits of web pages, desktop applications, and mobile apps, using accessibility testing tools and assistive technology products

  • Writing and evaluating Accessibility Conformance Reports, describing accessibility issues and recommendations for resolving them

  • Providing accessibility support to developer teams, either through consultancy or through contributing code snippets and suggestions

  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in accessibility and related fields

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • 4 years accessibility experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent degree/relevant experience.

  • Honed consulting, influence, and negotiation skills to achieve desired outcomes that inspire action and trust from stakeholders

  • Flexibility and adaptability - able to quickly and smoothly change direction based upon stakeholder or management direction, while remaining extremely organized and following tight deadlines

  • High degree of initiative and autonomy coupled with an ability to function successfully as part of a team (in person and virtual)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, strategic partner relationships at the Executive Level as well as supervisor level

  • Be proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI ARIA and display knowledge about the accessibility benefits and obstacles these techniques provide

  • Direct previous experience in manually testing websites to ensure conformance to WCAG 2.2 – Level AA

  • Hands on experience with Assistive Technology (e.g. screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input, etc.)

  • Understand accessibility evaluation tools and methods in both web and desktop environments

  • Familiarity with modern web application development practices and popular JavaScript frameworks

  • IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist certification or equivalent, such as Trusted Tester Version 5 (TTV5)
