Application Support DevOps Engineer

Work Location: UK Wide / Remote

We will not sponsor work permit for this position.
As this role requires SC Clearance, candidate should have resided in UK for an minimum period of 5 yrs.

Primary Skills: Application support with Devops and Cloud experience.AWS is desirable. 

The role of the DevOps Engineer exists within the Eviden AMS Applications Management Sub Practice.
Application Management is focussed on the delivery of applications support and development services within the Public and Regional markets across a variety of customers. Our approach employs Agile and DevOps approaches, aligning to the needs of our clients. The Application Management works with other Global and UK Practices and Sub-Practices providing support for Applications and Infrastructure to provide an integrated service to our clients.

Eviden Application Management have an exciting role as a Dev Ops engineer with the opportunity to work on projects for our prestigious UK clients.

You will be part of a close knit high performing team working in an Agile way to help support our customers into the cloud and beyond.

We're looking for great Dev Ops skills and experience but most importantly a positive and courageous attitude to help deliver excellence in dev ops to our customers. 

We're looking for a candidate to get hands on and work well in our agile teams. You will help with Application Cloud migrations, Application Cloud Development and Application deployments including CICD pipelines, containerisation, security, and tooling.

Ideally you will have experience in all these areas.

• Version control tools ideally Git
• CICD pipelines and tooling such as Jenkins / Gitlab
• Build tool configuration such as Maven and Gradle
• Scripting and automation tools - e.g. Gradle, Bash
• Containers and container platforms e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
• Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)
• Infrastructure automation technologies - e.g. Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation 
• Working in an agile environment
• Using collaboration tools such as Jira/ Confluence
• Working in a collaborative and empowered way with stakeholders at all levels
• You will be supported by access to Atos’s world class training resources and expert peers across the globe

Job Description 
Responsibilities for the role include but are not restricted to:

• Support the team with builds and deployments. 
• Building and manage environments
• Ensuring our applications are built and deployed securely.
• Setting up monitoring and alerting tools
• Support the smooth running of development environments and deployments
• Automate deployments and processes
• Supporting with production incidents where necessary.
• Documenting tools, setups and processes and sharing knowledge with other members of the team.
• Provide production support, out of hours where necessary.
• Collaborating and liaising with the team and customer stakeholders to ensure solutions built meet requirements.
• Accurately update working tools used by the team such as Jira and Confluence
• Supporting the team to achieve defined SLAs including assisting in resolving incidents and problems where necessary
