Who Are We / Context

We design and deliver some of the world's most advanced computing environments supporting scientific research, industrial innovation, sovereign programs, and AI at scale.As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Senior High-Performance Storage Architect to join our Solution, Design & Architecture (SDA) team.
This strategic role will focus on the design, sizing, and integration of large-scale storage infrastructures supporting HPC and AI projects. Working at the heart of our pre-sales organization, you will be responsible for defining innovative storage architectures for major international tenders and collaborating with leading technology partners to build competitive, high-performance solutions.
Your Mission
- As the ultimate storage expert within the HPC pre-sales organization, you will take ownership of all storage-related topics throughout the bid lifecycle.
- You will design scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient storage solutions capable of supporting multi-petabyte HPC and AI environments while ensuring optimal performance and eliminating data access bottlenecks.
- You will work closely with internal compute and networking architects as well as strategic technology partners to deliver winning technical proposals and defend storage architectures during executive-level customer presentations.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, sizing, and technical validation of storage solutions for HPC and AI opportunities.
- Design large-scale distributed storage infrastructures capable of supporting demanding scientific and AI workloads.
- Evaluate and select the most appropriate technologies from Bull's strategic ecosystem of storage partners.
- Define storage architectures leveraging parallel filesystems, flash technologies, and NVMe-over-Fabrics solutions.
- Optimize end-to-end I/O performance through advanced technologies such as GPUDirect Storage and NVMe-oF.
- Collaborate with compute, networking, and solution architects to ensure overall platform coherence and performance.Produce technical sizing studies, architecture documentation, and solution design recommendations.
- Contribute to technical proposal development and support commercial competitiveness.
- Participate in customer workshops, technical discussions, and architecture reviews.
- Defend proposed solutions during oral presentations with C-level executives, research institutions, government agencies, and defense organizations.
- Maintain strong relationships with strategic technology partners and monitor market innovations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Profile
- Extensive experience in designing, sizing, administering, or architecting high-performance storage infrastructures.
- Proven background supporting complex HPC, AI, or large-scale enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Strong ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable storage architectures.
- Comfortable engaging with executive stakeholders, partners, and technical experts.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in distributed high-performance storage environments.
- Deep knowledge of HPC parallel filesystems such as:
- LustreIBM
- Storage Scale (GPFS)
- Experience with modern AI-oriented storage platforms such as:
- VAST Data
-WEKA
- Equivalent technologies
- Strong understanding of storage hardware architectures, including:
- Storage controllers
- Server architectures
- High-density disk systems
- Flash/NVMe technologies
- Expertise with NVMe-over-Fabrics (NVMe-oF).
- Advanced Linux administration and performance tuning skills.
- Knowledge of low-latency networking technologies:
- InfiniBand
- High-Speed Ethernet
- Experience performing storage sizing, performance analysis, and capacity planning.
Preferred
- Knowledge of GPUDirect Storage technologies.
- Experience supporting large government, research, or defense projects.
- Exposure to hybrid HPC/AI infrastructures.
- Understanding of procurement and tendering processes for large-scale technology programs.

Security Clearance Eligibility
Must be eligible to obtain national security clearances up to Secret / Top Secret level, subject to applicable regulations.
Environment
Location: Les Clayes-sous-Bois (France), Angers (France), or other Bull/Eviden strategic locations depending on project requirements.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel within France and internationally.
Remote Work: Hybrid model, according to company policy and project requirements.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Indicative Compensation Range: Competitive package based on experience, skills, and location.
