NETWORK ENGINEER

Requirement for a network systems engineer to be able to be more senior and assist the team with day to day tasks around Networking in Telco environment.

Job Description

• Atos wishes to recruit a Network Systems Engineer who will work on 2 projects in the TMT environments in South Africa

Mission/Role Purpose

This will be a senior/team leader role and the engineer will be required to lead the team, be proactive and assist on the following projects:

• WiFi Calling
• SMSC Support

Responsibilities 

The tasks are therefore very varied and include:

• Monitoring of relevant systems.
  • Configuring and maintaining SMSC platforms.
  • Implement security measures to ensure secure SMSC environment.
  • Upgrading and loading patched on SMSC environment and support new futures.
  • Deploying of WiFi Calling system upgrades, and patches.
  • Optimize WiFi calling environment/systems.
  • Do network capacity monitoring and planning.
• Performing daily checks of systems.
  • Implement Quality of Service (Qos) mechanisms.
  • Perform Audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement

• Education and Experience

  The profile required should be an intermediate to senior role that has the following experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in the Telco industry
• Telco Network experience, i.e., Network System technologies like PSTN, PLMN, GSM, CDMA,
• Experience as a Unix System Administrator or Systems Operator with familiarity of large scale MVAS systems and related application protocols like SIGTRAN, HTTP, SMPP etc.
