The Capital Improvement Technology Project Manager at the Hospital Information Systems - Project Management department is tasked with leading and managing a variety of complex projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include developing project plans, managing budgets, schedules, and ensuring all project deliverables meet quality standards. The role focuses on enhancing clinical processes and healthcare service delivery by collaborating closely with clinical and operational teams. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will oversee the project’s day-to-day operational tasks, ensure compliance with project documentation standards, and facilitate effective communication and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong leadership capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to project management in a healthcare setting. • Internal-Clinical Subject Matter Experts • Managers, Supervisors, Directors • Staff clinicians • IS Analysts • Vendors • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time paid work experience in healthcare administration or project management. • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time paid work experience utilizing MS Project or a comparable project management. Experience with Cerner's Suite of Products: • Familiarity with Cerner technology is preferred due to its widespread use in healthcare information systems. Educational Background: • Master’s degree in public health, Healthcare Policy, or an equivalent degree. Certification: • Certification in Project Management (CAPM). Knowledge: • Project Management Techniques: Experience with planning and tracking the scope, time, and budget associated with projects. • Security Requirements: Understanding of the security required at each stage of the project cycle. Skills: • Documentation and Communication: Ability to document requirements, designs, communication plans, project plans, project status, and issues effectively. • Presentation and Meeting Facilitation: Skills to conduct meetings and formal presentations to sponsors, stakeholders, and project teams. • Project Management Tools: Proficiency in using MS Project or comparable project management tools. Abilities: • Leadership: Capability of leading project teams, including teams comprised of internal employees, vendors, consultants, and combinations thereof. • Adaptability: Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. Responsibilities and Typical Duties: • Project Oversight: Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, deliverables, communication plans, risk logs, issues logs, status reports, and performance metrics from concept through completion. • Issue Management: Handle issues analysis, resolution, and tracking activities, ensuring proper documentation and communication. • Clinical Process Improvement: Focus on clinical process improvement and healthcare redesign, integrating clinical and operational practices in collaboration with clinical and operational teams. • Performance Management: Support hospital-based services in achieving performance targets by reviewing performance data and trends, maintaining and communicating the performance dashboard. • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clinic leadership to promote patient-centered care through training in the use of data and other skills associated with process improvement. • Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of each project, ensuring project documentation is accurate and complete. • Communication and Training: Ensure effective communication, adequate training, and proper documentation across projects.
