As part of the development of the High Performance Computing (HPC) product and solution offer, the HPC Business Unit, for its Product & Performance Engineering department, is recruiting a Linux System Performance Engineer for the evaluation, validation and integration computing solutions.

 

This activity is essential for the introduction and the management of the products of the HPC offer, and is located at the intersection of the architecture of the platforms, the integration of the components and the tuning of the various basic software (firmware / BIOS / OS), in the field of High-End and Midrange compute servers, high performance storage systems and low latency high speed networks.

 

In a dynamic environment, you will work in:

 

  • Participation in product design in relation to R&D
  • Analysis of Bull / Atos products and products of partners or competitors
  • Writing and carrying out test procedures
  • The definition of configuration and industrialization sheets
  • Assistance to product managers in writing product sheets
  • The establishment and development of tools for analyzing and / or improving performance and writing experimental reports

 

As Technical Manager, you like to share your knowledge with Atos teams, and you provide level 3 internal support on these products. You are also motivated to understand new technologies and propose innovative uses in HPC solutions.

 

Your profile:

 

With a higher education in computer science bac + 5 type engineering school or equivalent university master, you have at least 10 years of experience and master the following environments and technologies:

 

Linux operating system:
System administration and writing of automation scripts (bash, python, ...)
DHCP, Diskless, PXE, etc ...


Hardware environments:
Multiprocessor servers and their microcontrollers
Multiple origin processors, GPUs and other accelerators
InterConnect communication interfaces and networks (Ethernet, Infiniband)
Interfaces to storage systems


Performance measurement and management environments:
Understanding of micro architectures of processors and accelerators and interactions with the Linux kernel
System performance measurement software (benchmarks),
Performance analysis (perf),
System development and debugging tools (C, gdb, strace, crash),

 

Rigorous, curious and autonomous, you are recognized for your interpersonal skills, your ability to propose solutions and your team spirit.

 

Technical English required
 

This position also requires the ability to install and handle materials related to Product Engineer tasks. You will have to physically modify the configurations and handle the equipment physically.

The position would be ideal for a Systems Engineer wishing to extend his scope to performance optimization in the context of market-leading high-performance computing systems.
