What You’ll Be Doing
Eviden (an Atos business) is the leading provider of High Performance Computing (HPC) in Europe. Our customers include Government Agencies, Research Institutions, Universities and Blue Chip manufacturing and defence companies. As an HPC Field Support engineer you will be installing, configuring and supporting some of the most important HPC systems in the world.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting 2 of Eviden’s (an Atos business) most important HPC customers in their use of Eviden (an Atos business) HPC &AI solutions. You will gain exposure to the entire HPC lifecycle as you implement the latest HPC & AI technologies and support them through their life-cycle. You will be responsible for Hardware parts replacement and Level 1 system software support.
As part of an agile Finnish and wider European HPC team, you’ll work at key customer sites in Kajaani and also have the opportunity to participate from time to time in other HPC installations across Europe.
From early on you will represent Eviden (an Atos business) within the Kajaani customer account and be the interface between the customer and Eviden’s (an Atos business) backline support organisation to optimise the customer’s HPC investment.
Essential Skills
This is an intellectually stimulating opportunity that will help you learn about cutting-edge HPC technology. A degree in science, technology, engineering, or computer science is preferred, but relevant work experience will also be considered. This role is ideal for candidates seeking their first or second job who are confident in their technical abilities and their ability to manage technical customer relationships.
In addition to your qualifications, the key strengths we are looking for include
- Hands on experience of building or maintaining computer equipment
- Knowledge and experience of using Linux
- Shell scripting
- Understanding of Networking and Network Security
- Technical aptitude and interest in computing engineering
- Inquisitive mindset and a fast learner, motivated to progress
- Out-of-the-box thinking, to solve problems in innovative ways
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
- Confident communicating with technical stakeholders at all levels

The candidate must be located within a short commute of Kajaani.
