We’re looking for an Epic Operational (Cache/IRIS) Database Administrator (ODBA) that creates and manages the Epic ODB environments that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs, installs and maintains the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for elevated levels of availability and performance and manages performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues. Utilize System Pulse and Kuiper. The position requires deep understand and experience with Epic’s implementation of Cache`/IRIS, and knowledge of Linux/Unix platforms. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to function independently. Responsible for the operational “good maintenance” of the Epic database platform, as well as the growth, stability, and security of the platform. The ODBA is a member of a collaborative group having oversight and responsibility for infrastructure and upgrade projects on Epic Cache`/IRIS platform, will assist non-infrastructure teams with technical considerations in their projects and optimization of the platform. This is a critical component of our client’s electronical medical record platform in the care delivery process. 
 

Education Required 
– Associate’s degree or equivalent Preferred 
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 
 

Certifications Required: Epic Operational Database Administration (Cache`/IRIS) 
 

Work Experience Required 
- 2 years’ experience as a database administrator or an application developer in a database environment. Preferred 
- 4 years of experience in with InterSystems Cache`/IRIS (Epic) in a Linux Unix based business-critical environment. 
 

What will you be doing:
•    Experience and proficiency with Cache/IRIS and Chronicles utilities. 
•    Strong technical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to be on call and work weekends/evenings when necessary. 
•    Good knowledge of AIX/RedHat Linux a plus. 
•    Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. 
•    Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard. 
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. 
•    Strong conflict resolution skills 
•    Strong technical skills Job Duties 
•    Monitoring and maintenance of InterSystems Cache/IRIS databases 
•    Applying fixes and software updates 
•    Planning datacenters for high availability and disaster recovery 
•    Monitor and proactively address problems and issues. 
•    Develop and monitor operational processes associated with Epic Cache`/IRIS databases. 
•    Designs and develops databases and prepares implementation plans for application upgrades and rollout. 
•    Supports and maintains databases. 
•    Manages database optimization. 
•    Participates in training and quality improvement activities. 
•    Other related duties as required.
