Your job in a nutshell:
This role is to undertake the day-to-day activities of the Operations department delivering a quality service to standard and deadlines including performing reconciliations, financial analysis, banking, checking of ledger balances, analysis of ledger balances and ensuring that the financial accounting controls are operating as planned.
What will you be doing:

Perform the daily activities outlined in core rota work to deliver complete and accurate financial transactions, receipts & payments, ensuring that general ledger is aligned to core business systems.

Perform reconciliations for the more technical reconciliations, аnalyse balances and trends highlighting issues to manager/stakeholders анд Identify any associated issues with recognition of income/expense impacting financial reporting.

Provide input & technical commentary into the monthly MI packs and production of department metrics.

Complete and issue trail balances for ledgers within remit of Fin Ops to standard and deadline highlighting issues and working with relevant parties to resolve.

Develop & maintain relationships with relevant Finance and business areas (ie, Customer Service, Risk) to highlight process issues, improve working processes and controls.

Continually review and improve processes and rules within Aegon’s Autore system.

Contribute to local and corporate projects securing that Finance operations are represented to ensure controls & risks are addressed.

Act as a mentor and trainer to the junior members of the team, give support to team members in their learning, and good practice.

Raise Risk incidents, and manage through solution and remediation.
Requirements:

Excellent oral and written communication, which is clear and suited to audience

Demonstrable excellent time management skills with little supervision, well planned and organised. Easily adapts to changing priorities

Ability to plan and work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy

Positive & flexible attitude

Ability to Influence Customers in a Tactful Manner

Experience of L&P industry
-
Excellent breadth & depth of knowledge of Life & Pensions accounting and Finance environment

Good knowledge of Aegon products
-
Knowledge of financial controls environment
-
Accounting qualification or working towards ACCA/CIMA
