Job Description
Primary Tasks
- Ticket handling - Providing remote hands assistance with trouble resolution and provisioning to clients as required.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues - provide hardware assistance and problem resolution; troubleshoot client problems, repairs, servers.
- Hardware – Racking, stacking, and troubleshooting Server Hardware.
- Cabling - Installing cables, labeling connections to data center and customer equipment.
- Utilize Fluke tester for provisioning and troubleshooting.
- Must be familiar with CAT-6, Fiber - Single Mode and Multimode - and their connector types.
- Ability to install (rack/stack/cable/basis configuration ie:ILO) server hardware platforms and related equipment.
- Database/Documentation – Thoroughly document the ticket logs when performing any work.
- Update inventories, work with multiple ticketing and database systems.
- Ability to review supporting documentation for operations and installation of hardware.

- Perform daily security walk throughs.
- Shipping/receiving duties may be required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years physical onsite Data Centre experience supporting the Data Centre equipment and/or infrastructure (Power, Space, Cooling, Equipment)
- Quickly learn, adapt, and retain Data Centre and Client specific information.
- Great teamwork capabilities
- Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Proficient in MS-Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Capability to spend extended durations standing or walking.
- Security clearance may be required to be obtained if working in cleared areas.
Work Environment - Work in room with continuous computer equipment noise. May bend, stoop, sit and/or walk for long periods of time. Color perception is necessary to perform certain critical aspects of this job.
