Mid-Level SAP FICO Consultant – Focus on Product Costing

Role Description

As a Mid-Level SAP FICO Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in configuring, supporting, and enhancing SAP Finance and Controlling processes, with a mandatory focus on Product Costing. You will work closely with business users and project teams to ensure accurate costing structures, financial reporting, and integration with manufacturing and inventory processes. This role requires both solid technical configuration skills and a deep understanding of cost flow in SAP.

What You’ll Be Doing

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business users, senior consultants, and controlling teams to gather and analyze costing-related requirements, especially in manufacturing environments.
• Configure and support key SAP FICO components including GL, AP, AR, AA, CCA, PCA, with a mandatory focus on Product Costing and Cost Object Controlling (including standard costing, actual costing, and variance analysis).
• Ensure correct integration of product costing with MM, PP, and inventory valuation, including material ledger scenarios (if applicable).
• Support and troubleshoot month-end closing activities such as WIP calculation, overhead application, and settlement.
• Assist in CO-PA configuration and reporting related to profitability by product, region, or customer.
• Participate in enhancement projects, rollouts, and optimizations with emphasis on cost control and accurate cost flow design.
• Prepare clear functional documentation including process flows, functional specifications, and training guides for costing scenarios.
• Conduct training for finance, plant controlling, and operations teams on product costing functionalities.
• Collaborate with technical teams for custom developments, reports, and interfaces related to cost accounting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial policies related to costing and inventory valuation.
• Keep up-to-date with SAP S/4HANA Finance developments in the area of product costing and controlling.

Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in SAP FICO with proven hands-on experience in Product Costing.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP Cost Object Controlling, Product Cost Planning, and Cost Center Accounting.
• Experience in standard costing, variance analysis, WIP, and settlement processes.
• Practical knowledge of SAP integration with MM and PP from a costing perspective.
• Exposure to Material Ledger and Actual Costing is highly desirable.
• Experience in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation or rollout with product costing scope.
• Good understanding of financial accounting, controlling structures, and inventory valuation.
• SAP FICO certification is preferred; additional certification in S/4HANA is a plus.
• Exposure to Funds Management and Treasury Management is a plus.
