Role Description

An Incident Manager is responsible for the overall management of incidents from start to finish. The role ensures that incidents are resolved in a timely and effective manner, communicating with stakeholders and coordinating the incident response team. In some cases, the Incident Manager also develops and implements processes and procedures for incident management.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

Core Responsibilities

• Manage incidents from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely and effective handling

• Communicate with stakeholders and provide regular status updates

• Oversee and coordinate the work of the incident response team

• Escalate incidents as needed

• Report on incidents and analyze trends to improve future incident management processes

 

Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing vendors on mega projects

• Familiarity with incident management processes and procedures

• Preferably holding ITIL certificates (foundation and intermediate) and PMP or PRINCE2 certifications

 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Well-developed organizational and time management skills

• Sound technical knowledge and experience relevant to incident management
