Role Description

As a Lead SAP FICO Consultant, you will be responsible for leading SAP FICO initiatives, overseeing solution design and delivery, and providing strategic and functional leadership across SAP Finance and Controlling implementations, transformations, and support engagements. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and business stakeholders, lead consulting teams, ensure high-quality delivery, and drive the successful implementation and continuous improvement of SAP FICO solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee end-to-end SAP FICO implementation, transformation, and support projects, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timelines, scope, budget, and quality standards.
• Take ownership of SAP FICO solution design and architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with business requirements and SAP best practices.
• Lead client engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders, understanding business objectives and translating them into effective SAP FICO solutions.
• Manage and coordinate SAP FICO project teams, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring successful project execution.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, technical teams, and cross-functional SAP teams to define requirements, processes, solutions, and delivery approaches.
• Conduct comprehensive business process analysis and gap assessments to identify opportunities for process optimization and SAP-enabled transformation.
• Design, configure, and oversee SAP FICO solutions covering General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), and CO-PA (Profitability Analysis).
• Ensure seamless integration of SAP FICO with other SAP modules, including Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and other relevant business processes.
• Review and validate functional designs, configurations, and technical developments to ensure alignment with business requirements and SAP standards.
• Lead system testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing, ensuring successful business validation and readiness for deployment.
• Provide expert guidance on SAP FICO configuration, master data, financial processes, reporting, controls, and transactional activities.
• Lead complex issue resolution and root-cause analysis, coordinating with technical teams, SAP support, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
• Oversee data migration, system conversions, upgrades, and S/4HANA transformation activities within the SAP FICO landscape.
• Mentor and develop SAP FICO consultants, providing technical and functional guidance, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions, and supporting their professional growth.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive the adoption of SAP best practices, process standardization, automation, and digital transformation.
• Lead and contribute to project governance activities, ensuring compliance with delivery methodologies, change control processes, documentation standards, and company policies.
• Support project planning, estimation, resource planning, risk identification, and delivery management for SAP FICO engagements.
• Participate in pre-sales activities, including solutioning, effort estimation, RFP/RFI responses, proposal development, solution demonstrations, workshops, and client presentations.
• Support the development of SAP FICO offerings, accelerators, methodologies, and reusable assets to enhance delivery capabilities.
• Stay up to date with SAP FICO and S/4HANA Finance innovations, emerging technologies, and industry trends, and assess their applicability to client environments.
• Ensure comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, solution designs, process flows, test scenarios, training materials, and user documentation.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in SAP FICO, with significant experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
• Proven experience in leading SAP FICO implementation, transformation, or support projects from requirement gathering through deployment and post-go-live support.
• Strong expertise in SAP FICO configuration, solution design, integration, and business process optimization.
• Extensive experience across SAP FICO functionalities, including GL, AP, AR, AA, CCA, PCA, CO-PA, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, financial processes, controls, reporting, consolidation, and statutory requirements.
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring SAP FICO consultants and coordinating cross-functional project teams.
• Strong experience in stakeholder and client management, including engagement with senior business and IT stakeholders.
• Experience in complex data migrations, system conversions, upgrades, and SAP S/4HANA transformation projects.
• Strong ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into scalable and effective SAP solutions.
• Experience in SAP integration with other modules, particularly SD, MM, and other relevant business functions.
• Strong understanding of SAP implementation methodologies, preferably SAP Activate.
• Experience in project governance, delivery management, risk management, and quality assurance.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• SAP FICO certification is strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in SAP S/4HANA Finance is preferred.
• Experience working with global or multinational organizations is advantageous.
• Experience in pre-sales, solutioning, proposal development, and client presentations is highly desirable.
