As a Mainframe Security Admin, you’ll keep an eye on system activity, spot and respond to security threats, and make sure only the right people have access. You’ll also manage tools like RACF, run audits, and help shape security policies—all while staying ready for any incidents, even after hours.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Threat Detection: Tracking mainframe logs and events to identify potential security threats. Performing risk analysis and responding to security incidents in real-time.                                                                        
  • Handling incidents during work hours and also during on-call support 24x7, 
  • "Administers RACF security
  • Configuration and Security Management: Configuring, managing, and updating mainframe security measures such as firewalls, access controls, and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS)."        
  • Risk Assessment and Evaluation: Conducting regular security audits of the mainframe, identifying security vulnerabilities, and developing strategies to mitigate them.        
  • Access Management: Monitoring and managing access to mainframe resources, including granting, modifying, and revoking access privileges.        
  • Development of Security Policies and Procedures: Collaborating with the security policy team to develop and implement appropriate mainframe security procedures and policies.                                                                                                                                                                
     

Requirements:

  • Experience working with mainframe systems, including operating systems from the z/OS family.        
  • Knowledge of mainframe security tools and technologies such as RACF, ACF2, and/or Top Secret.        
  • Ability to analyze security logs and events and respond to security incidents.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and network security concepts.        
  • University degree in Computer Science, 
  • At least 5 years of experience as IBM Mainframe specialist
  • Very good written and verbal English skills,
  • Excellent analytical skills, 
  • Stress resistant and problem-solving capabilities in case of emergency situations, 
  • Ability to deal with multi-task issues, 
  • Flexibility to be part of standby pool
     

Nice to have :

  • Certifications in information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM) would be an additional advantage.
