We are seeking a proficient DB2 System Programmer to join our dynamic and dedicated team.
Your job in a nutshell:
As a DB2 System Programmer you will be a professional responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and overall management of DB2 database software.
What will you be doing:
- Assist with testing, implementation and installation of new/improved systems, as well as product upgrades;
- Create policies, standards and procedures for the Database system support and usage;
- Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and availability;
- Perform routine backups and recovery procedures;
- Conduct regular performance analysis and tuning to optimize query performance;
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks;
- Collaborate with application developers to design and implement efficient database schemas;
- Maintain data dictionaries and documentation;
- Implement and maintain database high availability solutions (e.g., clustering, replication).
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a DB2 System Programmer or in a similar role;
- Strong knowledge of DB2 database management and administration, DB2 Recovery scenarios;
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Familiarity with database security best practices;
- Nice to have IBM DB2 certification.
